what we do
Our Blue Carbon Work
Twende Green Planet runs six real programmes across Kenya’s coast and highlands: mangrove and seagrass restoration, highland forest restoration, coastal enterprise and cash-crop training, technical carbon-markets advisory, and the Pan-African convening work of The Global NGO Stakeholders Summit. Together they advance UN SDGs 13, 14 and 15, and align with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 vision for environmentally sustainable, climate-resilient economies and a sustainable blue economy. This is also the same coast that hosted the first Our Ocean Conference held on African soil, in Mombasa in June 2026, where blue carbon and nature-based solutions were named among Africa’s top ocean priorities.
