What We Will Not Claim
Kenya’s national Blue Carbon Ecosystems NDC Implementation and Investment Plan sets out national investment figures and targets for the country as a whole. Twende will never imply that a national investment plan or funding facility has awarded money to Twende unless that award is documented. Where we reference Kenya’s national targets, we label them clearly as national targets, not as Twende’s own funding or achievements.

What kinds of finance is Twende seeking?
A mix suited to different stages of work: grants and philanthropy and development-partner programmes for direct restoration activity, project-preparation finance to move a designed programme toward implementation, and, where appropriate, carbon-market and responsible private investment routes.
Has Twende received funding from Kenya's national Blue Carbon Investment Plan?
No. Kenya’s national plan sets out targets and investment figures for the country’s blue carbon sector as a whole. Twende has not been awarded funding from it, and we will say so plainly rather than imply otherwise.
Is carbon credit trading Twende's business model?
No. Twende’s programmes are restoration and community-livelihoods work first. Carbon-market readiness is one possible pathway for a well-documented programme, approached with the same evidence and safeguards discipline as every other part of our work, not a trading operation.
What would a funder see before committing to a programme?
