One of Several Regions Where SAFE Kenya Runs Programmes
SAFE Kenya’s Core Method for Community-Led Change
Coastal Kenya
Theatre & Film
Shared Geography, a Different Method Toward Similar Goals
- Participatory theatre and film used to drive environmental and climate-change adaptation outcomes
- Started in Mombasa in 2002, now working across multiple regions of Kenya including the coast
- Community-led approaches to environmental resilience, echoing the community-led model behind our own restoration work
- Named here as an organisation whose work we track and respect, not a confirmed partner
SAFE Kenya’s climate-adaptation and community-led work in coastal Kenya sits close to our own. Twende Green Planet has no formal relationship with SAFE Kenya at this stage; we name the organisation here because its work is directly relevant to ours, and we will report a working relationship plainly if one develops.
- Both organisations work with, not for, the coastal communities most affected by environmental change
- Both are rooted in Mombasa, where SAFE Kenya began and where Twende Green Planet’s restoration work is anchored
- A future working relationship, if it develops, would be reported here honestly, not assumed in advance
- See our own Blue Carbon work for how community-led restoration works in practice
