Gabriel Bundala
Executive Director
Foundation for Civil Society - Tanzania
Gabriel Bundala is the Acting Executive Director of the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) in Tanzania, one of East Africa's most significant philanthropic intermediaries supporting civil society organisations. He brings over a decade of experience across professional services, technology operations, and civil society development, with a strong focus on financial strategy, institutional governance, and sustainability.
Gabriel began his professional career as an audit trainee at the National Audit Office of Tanzania and subsequently worked at PwC as an assurance associate, building deep expertise in financial management and accountability. He later served as Operations Manager for Tanzania at Bolt, and as Regional Operations Manager for Tanzania and Uganda, before joining FCS in February 2025 as Head of Finance and Operations and subsequently being appointed Acting Executive Director.
His experience bridging private sector rigour with the development sector's mission makes him uniquely positioned to champion transparency, accountability, and strategic resource mobilisation within Tanzania's civil society ecosystem.
At the NGO Summit 2026, Gabriel brings a practitioner's perspective on organisational sustainability, governance reforms, and the mechanisms through which intermediary funders can most effectively strengthen the capacity and resilience of grassroots civil society organisations across East Africa.
