Sprout Africa
Shanice Singirankabo is an entrepreneur, software engineer, and innovation leader committed to building solutions that create opportunity at scale. A full-stack developer with expertise in Python, TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, and React, she currently serves as Lead Software Developer at Sprout Africa, where she drives the development of digital platforms that empower communities across the continent.
Her work sits at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and social impact — a space where she is rapidly establishing herself as one of Africa's most dynamic young voices. Shanice has interned at multiple leading technology companies and startups spanning insurance, agritech, legal accountability, and tech hubs, building a multidisciplinary foundation that spans software development, graphic design, digital marketing, and project management.
A natural convener and community builder, Shanice has hosted innovation events at Google's AI office in Ghana and has organised technology challenges across Kenya, mobilising over 800 teams. She is involved in cutting-edge projects including a Liquid Trees bioengineering initiative — a nature-inspired technology system designed to absorb CO2 at scale far exceeding traditional reforestation — and has been active in blockchain, ethical hacking, and artificial intelligence initiatives across Africa.
Shanice champions youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and sustainable development as the pillars of Africa's technological future. She believes that the continent's most powerful solutions will be built by young Africans who understand its realities from the inside — and she is living proof of that conviction.
At the NGO Summit 2026, Shanice brings the energy, technical depth, and entrepreneurial vision of Africa's next generation of tech builders — challenging NGOs, governments, and development partners to create the enabling environments that allow young innovators like her to build, scale, and sustain solutions that transform lives across the continent.
